SOUTH BEND, In. (October 16, 2019) – On Saturday, October 19th at 7:30 p.m. at the Morris Performing Arts Center, the South Bend Symphony will kick-off its 2019-20 Indiana Trust Pops Series with an evening of iconic music by the leading ladies of Rock ’n Roll. 2017 Grammy Award Nominee Cassidy Catanzaro, multi-instrumentalist Celisse Henderson, and The Voice contestant Katrina Rose will have audiences dancing in their seats and singing the songs of the most iconic female singer/songwriters all the way home!
Under the baton of Music Director Alastair Willis, the SBSO and three fabulous vocalists honor female singers and songwriters who broke barriers in the Rock n’ Roll and pop genres with the music of Carole King, Tina Turner, Janis Joplin, Aretha Franklin, Pat Benatar, Heart, and more.
Women Rock brings together hits songs such as “I Feel the Earth Move”, “What’s Love Got To Do With It”, “Freeway of Love”, “Proud Mary”, “Piece of My Heart”, “Dancing in the Street”, “Hit Me With Your Best Shot”, “Love Is A Battlefield”, and more, all expertly arranged by Grammy Award winner Jeff Tyzik.
This concert is made possible by the generosity of Series Sponsor Indiana Trust Wealth Management and Concert Sponsor, General Stamping & Metalworks.
