SOUTH BEND, In. (November 27, 2019) – A wondrous week with the South Bend Symphony begins on Sunday, December 1st at 2:30 p.m. at the DeBartolo Performing Arts Center with a magical journey to the North Pole! Our 2019 Family Concert: Polar Express, under the direction of Music Director Alastair Willis, will take the audience into a world full of holiday cheer!

 

 

This one-hour concert will feature seasonal favorites as you’ve never heard them before such as The Turkey in the Straw, Music from Frozen, and a special musical adaptation of the beloved book The Polar Express featuring the Notre Dame Children’s Choir and Baritone, Stephen Lancaster.  Come an hour early for pre-concert activities for the whole family including an instrument petting zoo! Support for The Polar Express is generously given by the A. Harold & Lucille Weber Charitable Trust.

 

Continue the joy of the season with Celtic Woman – The Best of Christmas featuring the South Bend Symphony Orchestra! On Tuesday, December 3rd at 7:30 p.m. in the Morris Performing Arts Center, multi-platinum international music sensation Celtic Woman’s eighth annual “Symphony Tour” makes a stop in South Bend.

 

This concert offers an unparalleled live musical experience, with Celtic Woman performing timeless holiday songs accompanied by the South Bend Symphony Orchestra. The show will feature music from the all-female ensemble’s much-loved holiday releases, such as the platinum-selling A Christmas Celebration and Deck The Halls. Celtic Woman promises an enchanting and festive evening filled with lots of holiday favorites and a few Celtic twists.
