SOUTH BEND, In. (October 24, 2018) – The South Bend Symphony Orchestra invites you to “Alastair Presents: Tchaikovsky’s Circles” on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at 7:30 PM at the Morris Performing Arts Center. This unique concert experience will blend theatrical story telling with some of the most iconic music to come out of 19th Century Russia to depict the life and times of composer, Pyotr Illich Tchaikovsky through the eyes of another important composer of the time – Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov.

This concert marks the debut of a brand-new “Alastair Presents” series. Maestro Willis will take the audiences on a journey that combines his love for theater and music. “Tchaikovsky’s Circles” will feature violinist Felicity James and local actor David Chudzynski, as well as your South Bend Symphony Orchestral who will make Tchaikovsky’s world come to life!

“I’ve always jumped at the chance to combine my love of theater with my love of music. Over the years I’ve created about a dozen concerts that have a historical and dramatic through-line for an actor or two to take us through the music, with the orchestra of course as the focus. These concerts go beyond the music and the program notes in I think a very fun, accessible way, and I am thrilled to be bringing Tchaikovsky’s Circles to South Bend!”
-Alastair Willis
