The Community Foundation of St. Joseph County and South Bend Symphony Orchestra present the Chris Wilson Community Play Along Concert at the Chris Wilson Pavilion in South Bend’s Potawatomi Park on Sunday, August 16, at 6:00 p.m. The evening will feature Broadway favorites, movie music, classic orchestral pieces, and Americana, offering something for everyone.
The concert is free, open to the public, and designed for all ages!
The audience will enjoy music from West Side Story, arranged by Mason, Aaron Copland’s uplifting Variations on a Shaker Melody, Leroy Anderson’s lively Blue Tango, and more!

Calendar for The Chris Wilson Community Play-Along Concert
During this year’s Play-Along portion of the concert, community members will be able to perform “Hoe-Down” from Rodeo by Copland, “Mambo” from West Side Story by Bernstein, and The Stars and Stripes Forever by Sousa under the baton of Music Director Alastair Willis as he celebrates his 10th season with the Symphony! This opportunity is open to community musicians of all ages and playing levels at no cost.
Rehearsal Schedule:
- Saturday, August 15, from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. in the Auditorium at John Adams High School (808 S Twyckenham Dr, South Bend, IN 46615)
- Sunday, August 16, from 3:00 – 4:00 p.m. at the Chris Wilson Pavilion at the Potawatomi Park (2105 E Mishawaka Ave, South Bend, IN 46615)
