On Saturday, November 5, 2016 at 8:00 p.m. at the Morris Performing Arts Center, the South Bend Symphony Orchestra will perform the exciting first concert of the KeyBank Pops Series – the Music of John Williams. Led by guest conductor Stuart Chafetz, the South Bend Symphony will bring the adventure, romance, and magic of some of Williams’ most unforgettable movie scores to life once again.

Five-time Academy Award-winning composer John Williams has scored more than 100 films. Music from 12 of these films will be featured on the program, including Star Wars, Harry Potter, Jaws, Hook, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, The Terminal, and E.T.. Williams is known for writing soaring scores that often feature recurring musical motifs, thus creating memorable movie experiences that last a lifetime.

Stuart Chafetz will be atop the podium, leading the SBSO through these memorable musical tales.  Conducting across the nation, Chafetz has grown a reputation as, “a conductor with a dynamic podium demeanor and a refined sense of audience engagement.” Along with Stuart and the SBSO, there will be appearances by well-known special guests throughout the evening!
