The South Bend Symphony will present a special classical music performance of the SBSO Brass Trio, at Downtown South Bend’s Art Beat, featuring Principal Trumpet Stephen Orejudos, Associate Principal Horn Jeremiah Frederick, and Principal trombone Reed Capshaw. On August 20th at 12:00 p.m., the South Bend Symphony Brass Trio will take the stage for a 30-minute performance of some exciting brass favorites.
The repertoire for the performance will include well-recognized, lively pieces for all to enjoy. This will be a unique opportunity to see one of the South Bend Symphony’s most popular Symphony-To-Go ensembles, with exceptional SBSO musicians, for free in the heart of downtown South Bend.
The SBSO will also have an all-day booth at the festival which will include information about the 2016-17 Season, offer a chance to subscribe to any of the SBSO’s three fabulous Series, and have an insider’s peek into the Music Director Search for next season. An exciting new addition to this summer’s booth will be the Instrument Petting Zoo, designed for little ones who would like to showcase their talent or try out a new instrument.
The SBSO Art Beat Petting Zoo will include instruments of all varieties, so there will be something for every aspiring musician. SBSO Director of Education Christina Gibson will provide students with instruction as well as insight into the unique characteristics of each instrument.
The 2016-17 Season opening concert will be held on October 8, 2016 at the Morris Performing Arts Center. Subscriptions for all three South Bend Symphony Series: Jack M. Champaigne Masterworks, KeyBank Pops, and June H. Edwards Chamber, are all on sale through the South Bend Symphony Office at 574-232-6343. Single tickets will go on sale on August 29.
