Growing up in South Bend, Indiana, Nathan developed a passion for music after being introduced to Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte in high school. He studied music at the University of Illinois, where he is now a professor and codirector of Lyric Theatre @ Illinois. Nathan has performed on prestigious stages worldwide, winning awards like the Grammy for Best Opera Recording (Billy Budd). Notable roles include Papageno in the Met’s first HD broadcast. He also collaborates with musical theater stars and champions new works. Nathan recently debuted a one-man autobiographical show, Flying Solo.
