Diversity is a source of strength in the arts. We believe that orchestral music is best able to

inspire, entertain, and connect when it draws on the talents and support of a diverse group

of people.

The South Bend Symphony Orchestra acknowledges that orchestral music has not always

included the richness of a diversity of voices. These voices include people of different

races/ethnicities, religions, abilities, genders, and sexual orientations. We are committed

to collaborating with partners, electing board members, and hiring conductors,

composers, musicians, and staff that represent the diversity of human experience.
