The Community Foundation of St. Joseph County presents the South Bend Symphony Orchestra and Chris Wilson Community Play Along Concert at the Chris Wilson Pavilion in South Bend’s Potawatomi Park on Sunday, August 17, at 6:00 p.m. The concert is free, open to the public, and designed for all ages.

The audience will enjoy a dynamic selection of classical favorites, including Bach’s serene “Sheep May Safely Graze,” Tchaikovsky’s festive “Nutcracker March of the Tin Soldiers,” Wagner’s powerful “Ride of the Valkyries,” and Tchaikovsky’s “1812 Overture” as part of the Play Along.

“We love bringing the community together for music,” said Rose Meissner, President of the Community Foundation of St. Joseph County. “It’s a shared summer moment, and a memorable opportunity for local musicians to play along with our outstanding South Bend Symphony.”

“At the heart of everything we do is our mission: to inspire, entertain, and connect people with the transformative power of orchestral music,” says Sarah Perschbacher, Interim Executive Director of the South Bend Symphony Orchestra. “The Play Along concert brings that mission to life by inviting neighbors, friends, and families to share the stage and experience the joy of making music together.”

Listen online at WVPE-FM 88.1 at 6 p.m. to enjoy the simulcast of the performance.

Now in its sixteenth year, this concert is presented by the Community Foundation of St. Joseph County, with additional support from South Bend Venues, Parks and Arts, and WVPE-FM 88.1.

In collaboration with the Community Foundation of St. Joseph County, the Symphony is pleased to announce the annual Play Along Concert at the Chris Wilson Pavilion. More details about the Play Along, as well as the registration form, will be available at www.southbendsymphony.org.

In the event of rain, the concert will be indoors at the Adams High School Auditorium.
